Human Design Circuits

Just as an electronic device has a circuits on a motherboard with components soldered into it and connected together, so there are 3 Major Circuits in Human Design. These are Collective, Tribal and Individual. They carry the basic keynotes of Sharing, Supporting and Empowerment.

The Collective Circuit is split into logic and experience. Sharing through the Understanding Circuit refers to logical patterns that brings understanding to others about how to something works, what the details are of a particular system, what techniques are appropriate etc. It is goal and future orientated.

Sharing through the Sensing Circuit involves the sharing of past experience to enable us to grow and expand in our life. This includes sharing the emotional feelings that accompanied the experience. In this circuit, stories, adventures and the process of maturing through experience can lead to the drama, excitement in the expectations as well the the comedy and laughter of sharing. It also involves the sharing of the disappointments and tragedies that are met in our experience of life.

Tribal Circuitry contains the basic theme of Support. The Major Circuit is The Ego Circuit, the Minor Circuit is The Defence Circuit.

Here Tribal connection is paramount. Are you a friend included in the Tribe or an enemy and threat that must be excluded? The Tribal energies can be nourishing, sweet and loving but they can also be jealous, ruthless and dangerous. Bargains, deals and mutual benefit are inherent here as access to resources for the community (and/or family) is a fundamental need.

Individual Circuitry brings the new that has not been assimilated into the Collective or included in the Tribe. This is fundamentally about being 'different'. Interference is shunned, a sense of being an 'Outsider' from society is often experienced.

The new brings mutation or sometimes, initially, chaos. This circuitry includes the themes of inventiveness, creativity, eccentricity, aloneness, stubbornness, alienation, beauty, melancholy and unpredictability.

The Individual can be empowered in their uniqueness and often empowers others involved in something new the they love. The flip side is being shunned or rejected by both Collective and Tribal energies and having to go it alone. The Individual Knowing of those with this Circuitry is what sustains them in their creative endeavours. The labels of Madness or Genius are appropriate here, as the spirit of others in relationship to them will perceive their difference accordingly.

What is most important is that they accept their Individual Nature, embrace their melancholic moods and, in the ripeness of time, contribute their unique perspective to the world which will be changed as a result.
