Human Design Types

To be a Generator is to be blessed with an energetic power to get things done. Generators need to use all their energy everyday, then sleep which renews the Sacral Center containing this Life Force and be ready the next day to get on with it again. The founder of Human Design called your Type: The Generator, 'holy', not because you are necessarily spiritual, but because you supply the Life Force necessary for life on this planet. The other three Types do not possess their own Sacral Centre resource. It's your personal energy generation engine that powers you through your life. All the other Types of humans can never know the immense satisfaction that comes to Generators when they have actually built something by their own sustained effort. When your available Generator energy is in full flow and there are no leaks in inappropriate directions, your power can be incredible. Without Sacral beings like you there would be no life. However, without answering the question 'Who Are You?', most generators don't live a satisfying life, but rather throw their energy at work that doesn't suit them and then give up. The Human Design system can specifically pinpoint which Generator is available for what kind of work. Happily the Sacral Center provides specific guidance as it will respond with power, often with a guttural sound, to what it is available for and the energy will also retract if it is not. Making correct decisions by following this energetic flow leads the Generator out of frustration and into satisfaction.

To be a Manifesting Generator is to be blessed with an energetic power to get things done. This is due to the powerful Sacral energy that both Generators and Manifesting Generators have access to. Like the Generator, the key Question is "Who Are You?" Both have open and enveloping auras that receive conditioning easily from others as they go about their day. The difference is that Manifesting Generators also have power going into manifestation connecting their Throat Center to a motor. This brings a high octane energy to the Manifesting Generator — they are like the racing car version of the Generator. As such they are naturally designed to work fastest and harder and do more in less time than the Generator. They have the ability to jump steps in the process. However, if they don't begin in the step-by-step manner of a Generator they can miss important steps and then have to go back and sort them out which leads to frustration and anger. 'Just because you can doesn't mean you should' is something for you to remember. You are the most powerful of all the possible Types of Human Being. You can get a great deal of work done and you have the energy to keep on going. However, because of this great power you can also dig yourself a deeper hole faster than anyone else, when you're going in the wrong direction in your life. There is a cost to carrying such a life force, which is the constant demand that you use all your energy everyday. In essence, you are designed to work. You can be like an Ever-ready battery that gets little rest and can never know the peace and stillness that is available to the other Types. The constant state of 'doing' at the speed at which you can throw yourself into your activities, means that it can be easy for you to become lost in action and lose perspective. Meet a Manifesting Generator when they're doing what they love and they emanate an energy that is tangible in its ability to engage the other and often elicit envy or amazement at how much they can achieve when properly engaged in the correct work. It can be very impressive to see such power in action.

Projectors are the natural guides of the population. They have a focused, penetrating and absorbing aura that can penetrate the auras of the other Types (although they cannot penetrate Manifestors fully). Because of this their main question is "Who is The Other?" They are here to wait for the invitation from others who can recognise and appreciate their ability to guide the energy of others. Projectors are not here to work consistently. They are here for their life and when recognised they can bring a more expansive life to Generators. Many of them can be especially good at utilising systems that can aid them in their guidance of others. If your highly attuned frequency enters into a commitment to something or someone appropriate for you, then you will live a rewarding life. You have the special ability to assist life to blossom and if others follow your guidance, they have a much better chance of success. Their success, through your help brings you their appreciation and should also bring the financial reward to fund your movement in life. You have a remarkably perceptive awareness of life flow and what it is that helps energy to be used effectively in a healthy way and what causes it to degenerate into stagnation. By following your Strategy and Authority, a symbiotic connection can be made that can result in a Win-Win relationship. However, this depends upon you and those in your life living according to the basic mechanical facts of Human Design.

Manifestors are regarded as 'Energy Types', as they can manifest in words or action any time. However, they do not have Sacral energy available to them that can keep them going on and on, as do Generators. The Manifestor really doesn't want to live a life where the satisfaction of work is the primary thing in their life. They want to live a life where they can be free and peaceful, without being interfered with by outside forces. You want to be free to do and say what you want. When you were a child, it seemed natural to take something you wanted if you could. You don't easily consider other people in your actions. But the consequence of your actions, without informing others, is usually resistance and punishment. On the other hand, from your experience of the world and the people in it, others can appear to always want to control you and restrict what you do, so there can be a gradual resentment of this and your anger at being stopped or prevented from doing something is legendary. You can be seen as rebellious and a bit of a troublemaker. Your repelling aura that pushes out to others adds to the impact you make, even if you say or do nothing. You don't want to be angry. You want to be peaceful. You want to be left alone and do what you want to do and say what you want to say. You can often be a loner, preferring your freedom and your ability to be independent to the compromises you have to make when dealing with others. They have a closed and repelling aura that no other Type can penetrate to the core, and because of that, others can be wary of them even though they can be sweet and good natured people, because no one knows what or when they will act. They are here to know their impact in the world by initiating and breaking into new territory, which the Generators can then build from.

Reflectors are the rarest of all the Types — about 1.4% of the population. They have no consistent Definition in their Human Design chart. Unlike the other Types they are driven by the Lunar influence and the positioning of the Moon in the transit field brings in different definition to them throughout any month. Their question is "Who are They?". The Reflector has a sampling aura that takes in the auras of others and the environment but are designed to not get stuck in the conditioning. Many of them move from one place to another changing as they reflect whoever and wherever they are. The radical Openness of your chart and your remarkable ability to sample the auras of those around you gives you the ability to judge the quality of any environment you find yourself in. You take in all the influences and then reflect it back. This natural ability can make you an excellent facilitator whenever groups of people gather. You can sense or feel the 'vibe' in an unerring and straightforward way. You are able to see all points of view, feel the emotions that are unexpressed and can speak the truth of whatever's going on. Reflectors like to be seen because so often they feel invisible. By being at the centre when they do speak, they get everyone's attention by sharing what they reflect. What they reflect will be a fair representation of how everyone else is feeling and thinking, epitomizing that group's interests. They need to wait a full month in their decision-making process as they are very linked to the program itself and long to be surprised by whoever operates independently of the background energy field.
